Product review: Maybelline gel liner

Having a long lasting eye liner is a must. And MGL is the best value for money when it comes to brands. Maybelline Gel Eyeliner is a part of the Maybelline’s eye studio collection. It is the only product available

in India from this range and is available in black , Grey and brown colours.

PROS:

1. This liner is priced at ₹375 and there are a lot other liners at the same price but this product is trending these days because of it’s different and easy handling packaging , smooth texture , long lasting effect and to top it all because of it’s reasonable price.

2. It comes in a small tub along with its own designed sleek brush for the application. The brush also consists of a cap which makes it easier to store anywhere.

3. The creamy and oily gel of this liner really helps in smooth application and glides really well. It claims 24 hours stay and does not fade or smudge. The colour is intense black.

4. It is quite easier to apply , you just have to glide the brush on the lash line from inner to outer corner. You can very easily apply it on your waterline in the same manner. The best part is that it isvery safe to use even when you’re wearing contact lenses.

CONS:

1. The only problem with this liner is that after using the gel for 5 to 6 months it starts getting really dry and the bristles of the brush becomes hard.

Alternatively you can use other liners which are priced almost as same as the MGL. But MGL can be used effectively for both purposes ; for liner as well as kajal. But other liners are a roll on a retractable pencil which doesn’t have to be sharpened but most often the roll leads to breaking of the pencil. Another thing is that the colour of some products are not very intense black and fades away after

around 2-3 hours.

It doesn’t stay as long as the MGL. So out of the two go with the former choice as it is also a great

value for money.
